WikiLeaks network policy and the future of the Internet on how one

The Internet most essential part of democracy has become. And not without reason, but the basic idea of democracy is strong and by the civil controlled by him of rule. Sure, the idea is still relatively young, and given thousands of years of oppression by all possible forms of autocracy makes sure the question of how this system already established can be. Or how much do let "the powerful", it designs, it is.

thing is only one thing: Even in the best democracy driven advantage of you. And it is also clear that the misconduct by Hans Meier of interest in relation to reality, no one. The really significant plays in the world, starting with the powerful. Whether one thinks an Obama Westerwelle that he was incompetent, may certainly for the tabloids and the Image clientele be interesting, but still relevant, only the geo-political considerations and decisions of these men.

If there were no journalists, politicians sometimes as much as possible back to my body would even know today, even in our democracy, no one, what politicians do. That we all, at least in part, have an idea of what drive politicians but especially behind the scenes, we owe the fact that we have media that politicians have made over time to accept that at least parts of which have to disclose publicly what they do. Nevertheless, there are plenty of things remain in the dark. Of secret military files to agreements between politicians and business heads that permeates the quiet, dark and are made primarily secret chamber, not outside. At least ideally. At least watch the the politics works. Because if something were to spill out, the mystery would finally betrayal. And one can not tolerate it! And this is after all still: It has, after all, a reason why such things are kept secret! But is that really so? Is there today really still a privilege to keep secret government documents still secret?

is clear: There are definitely things that are not should be spread around the world when they were written. Secret military plans, for example. Had the U.S. published its military plans before they invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, the whole war would become even more catastrophic than it is already become so. The lights in safely. What is not evident in this context that these plans will be after the application is still kept secret. Everyone could live mitgaffen on television, when the Americans overthrew Saddam Hussein's statues. There is no obvious reason why some documents in some cases for decades, away from everyone's eyes in secret archives must be stored, rather than contributing to historians to help during the work.

Especially in today's world. A world that would have thought possible 10 or 20 years no one: In the shoot anyone with a cell phone can take a picture or a video and so on Youtube and Twitter show directly from the scene is what really happened. Our information age brings forth a world in which the classic understanding of the media for all time upset, is because no one has to rely on themselves to qualitative reporting by some to leave few established media, but directly to the Twitter Community may ask whether someone is there where just a little happened and want to let go sometimes just 140 characters about this in the world. Or just want to blog even an article about it. This is the most realistic implementation of traditional education, which there can be with our means.

But this behavior also brings risks: threats to the ruling class! After all, forcing our information age, every individual to act independently. Be it in food, in flight providers for the next trip to Ibiza or in the political world events: Everyone looks at first, but Reviews or read the best reviews on Amazon, before turning to the current issue of the Foundation buys goods test. Not only because it's free. But because the citizens not only in Germany, not much confidence in the "up there" have. Who would believe Nestlé when they said they would make the best chocolate? And if Qype would then also say the opposite, the thing would eat it altogether. That's the power of the Internet.

But that is a power that politicians can not understand. Because they are unable to accept modern ways of thinking or thinking only of modern developments. Let alone to recognize the potential of such a development. They shout rather "threat" and shoot with all available weapons. That with afford such a behavior, population, namely, is quite capable of such behavior to reflect on, they see not, unfortunately.

What the So WikiLeaks? Sure, they have published secret documents. While this is interesting, but really threatening our politicians are praised but in reality the power to prove to the WikiLeaks. So they just go shoot it. But why does not the great alternative that opens up? What if the government would finally deign to think and act democratically? What if they would propose to WikiLeaks, on its own documents the already no longer pose a risk, but still would be interesting for the public to publish on WikiLeaks? As mentioned, the secret military documents that have no relevance anymore because the campaign is over? That would be democratic because it would be enlightening. Because the Internet is quite capable of improving our democracy!

Unfortunately, politicians are still only on the art of war and not to the democracy of art.
